32 Weeks!

Just a quick update!

Ryan Matthew is 32wks and 5 days today!  We had an in office growth scan and he was measuring about 4lbs 12oz!   He's going to be a big boy! Looking like my c-section will be on Jan 30th.

Big brother Riley is doing wonderful! He understands where the baby sleeps and what things are for the baby and not for him, he's also talking SOO much more!  We'll get him there!! :D  He can count 1-10 and do his ABC's with no problem now and even sing some songs!  Mostly, we know what he's saying, but others do not.

27 Weeks and counting!

Well, I guess it's been awhile!   I've been working for the past month and a half or so now, which has been pretty rough, but well worth the extra money in the house!   Baby Ryan is doing well so far, he is 27 weeks and snuggled up safely inside! :)  They have told me either I make big babies, which is probably part of the case or part of my GD, Ryan is already in the 96th percentile!  I'm fully expecting another big baby!

The cloth diaper journey is soooo overwhelming!  I keep seeing this brand or that.  First it was Sunbaby, then Alvas, now Babyland! lol  I just want something cheap that's going to WORK!   I'd also like to get what I need purchased and get it done with.  So we'll see how this works out!
I'm still making the newborn stage, but with him going to be big and all, I'm hoping the size will fit for at least a few weeks!

Riley has been amazing lately!  He's picked up SO many new words!  It's like he's finally taking off and gaining a vocabulary that more than just we can understand!  I'm so very proud of my big boy!!

Couple more weeks to thanksgiving and my goodness the time is just FLYING by this pregnancy!  I haven't gained any weight yet, lets hope I can keep it that way for at least a little while yet! :P

14 Weeks tomorrow!

Where is this time going? It seems like only last week we found out we were having another baby!
I've created a couple cloth diapers so far, but waiting for my snap pliers and some more fabric to do much more.

I had my NT scan on 8/3, which seems to have turned out well. HB was 157, still higher than my son! So Pink dust please!  13wks.
I had to take my 1hr GD test last week, which I had failed, so this tuesday I need to take the 3hr test and see how that goes.  I'm down -2lbs so far, which I guess can't hurt.  Would be nice not to gain too much, but as long as the baby is healthy, I'm good!

Ry has been doing really well, he's upped his vocab quite a bit, we are so proud!!   He's going to make an amazing big brother!

Just wanted to put a tiny update since I hadn't posted anything in awhile. :)

This and That

What another post, so soon?!

I'm a little excited, one more week until I see my OB, seems like it's months away!  I'm really hoping for an u/s since they say he has been doing them at 8wks, and I will just be a couple days past!   I'm not exactly sure why he's waiting until 8wks to see me though... I have my otc prenatals, but still!

School starts back up this week!  My little guy will finally have somebody more than mommy to play with!  This is also wonderful, just for the simple fact that I can NOT beat this nausea.  Ugh!
I took Riley over to the local elementary school park, I had no idea it was open for the public when school was out! It's a 5 min walk from us and we are just NOW figuring this out? Go figure, terrible mommy for not thinking to even look!   He had such a blast, there were no little kids, but he loved climbing and sliding just the same.

He has been so eager in fact, the other day he tried to start walking across the neighbors yard yelling, "Lets go!" back at me.   I guess that means we will be making a couple trips a week to keep him, busy!

Cloth diaper material shopping this weekend!!  Even more exciting! hehe  I WILL make these diapers, work!  I'm just curious as to how to test them, since it will be quite a bit of time until the baby is born between making them.  I was planning on making 24 newborn diapers and 24 mediums, just to be on the safe side.  I guess I could try to pick a sized one to Riley's and test an over night diaper, since he does still have accidents, may save me some sheet laundry.

At least I have something a little more to blog about, maybe I'll spam myself with nonsense over the next 8 months!

Cloth Diapers

First of all Happy Father's day!! (Though this post is posted the day after, I did start it yesterday, never got around to finishing.)  Hubby and I put up some new blinds on the porch and in my laundry room.  The ones in my laundry room were SO old, they were falling apart, the string literally fell off when I pulled them up to clean last. lol   I didn't work him too hard though, on Fathers day, no worries!  The idea to replace them all was mostly his idea anyhow, we had a great family day!

Though it is very early yet.  My first OB/GYN visit is not until July 5th.  I have decided this time around, I am going to use Cloth Diapers.   I am not only going to use them, I am going to make them myself!   I figured, I best get an early start if I am going to do it, since my projects tend to sit around sometimes.  I will be making gender neutral just in case we decide to not find out.

I am a bit confused about what type of cloth material to use, but I have decided I am going to do the All in two (AI2) method.  That looks to be the easiest for our particular needs, especially drying.  I am going to look into snaps, but unless they carry a cheap press at one of the local stores, I am going to just go with the velcro type closures.  I think velcro may be easiest for hubby and grandparents, at least to start out.

Here is the pattern I came across that I will be making.  I am going to make both Newborn and Mediums.
Cloth Revolotion Diapers from Tutu Mafia

So far, I am still lacking on info for the material on the inner layer, I will be doing the stuffing method, so I believe this does make a difference.  I had thought to get two types of fabric, printed for the outer and a corresponding plain color for the inner. I found some super cute fleece fabric for $3 a yard, but I'm unsure if this is the type of inner material that can be used. The second is washing instructions.  I have come across so much information about this that I am beyond lost.  If you are able to make soakers out of cheap cotton from thrift stores, does it then need to be washed with a specific soap?  Yeah, confusing much! lol

Oh, just to add, hubby is as excited as he gets about all things baby, but he is wishing for a girl!  He even said we need to start thinking about names, he has dibs this time around. lol!

Preggers or not, that is the question!

So here I am after many months of nothing, I'm just not a big time blogger.

I've thought about having another child, but it was just a thought, not something planned.  It seems, or so I think, that someone else has other plans!  I'm never late, the damn thing is like clockwork, but it could just be late, right?
I'm just gonna grab a home test this evening and I guess that'll tell me yes or no... when it says yes, that's the scary part!
I am extremely nervous and a little bit frightened that it will be another special needs baby.  I don't mind having a baby, that part is fine, it's just worrying about how he or she will be.  I had an extremely wonderful pregnancy my first time around.  I still can't help but think I did something wrong.  I ate the wrong thing, I had a cup of coffee when I shouldn't have.  It's beyond scary.  I'm fairly sure my husband is less than thrilled, I can't read him, he hides his thoughts.

On top of it, I'm fairly sure we'll be looking for a new place, I don't mind, we could use a bigger house and I guess a bigger yard.  This has already been talked about long before the thoughts of being pregnant.  Of course, money is the constant nagging thing that keeps us back from what we would like, I had wanted to get a part time job, I'm not so sure I will be able to do that now.

I was just getting ready to have a huge yard sale to get rid of all my old baby gear, isn't it funny how that happens?  Even better, I'll end up keeping it and it will be a girl? lol!  Doubtful, but isn't that how this works? hehehe

I'm not even sure why I am writing this, it will change nothing, but I guess it helps to get out feelings.  Nobody reads this thing anyhow! lol

Potty Training

I can't for the life of me, figure out how often I should be posting.  Once a week...couple weeks.  Whatever really works, right?

The kiddo and I have been sick as heck, nasty sinus colds. Cranky, drippy, coughy..yuck!   Somehow, even though he is sick, he has managed to be the most amazing little guy, ever.  We have been working on potty training for over a year now, all we managed was no diapers during the day.  He's great, no accidents, ever.  Just one tiny little thing...he won't poop with out one!  I have tried everything from bribes to me falling down crying.   As soon as he has to go, he b-lines for the bathroom and grabs a diaper and runs it back to me.

In an attempt to rid our house of diapers forever, I took the step of getting rid of them at night.   Figure, he doesn't have one on at night, he may not want to poop in one, right?  Wrong!

However, now that it's day #2, the other #2 has decided he can't wait anymore.  He went digging around in diaper bags, purses, closests, drawers.  He ripped the house apart just to find that diaper!   I had him sit on the potty for a couple mins at a time, but nope.  I can not for the life of me get rid of them!

Day #1  Completely  dry in the morning!
Day #2  Completely dry in the morning!

I did wake him to go twice in the middle of the night, once just a little after 11 and once around 2 when I was headed to bed.   So he's not completely dry, but I can handle this until he gets the hang of it.

*We have to always try to remember, he is about the age of 2 in his development, so even though he's 4, we have to work with him.

So, now what?

We have a Diagnoses!  Well, at least for now anyhow, they always seem to change.
"Global Developmental Delays consistent with Mild intellectual Disability Hyperkinetic Syndrome/ADHD symptoms in the setting of Intellectual Disability Mild Hyoptonia."
Phew! Is that a mouth full or what!  I won't lie, it's a little scary, okay a lot.   My son is 4  years old, he's simply amazing.  I couldn't ask for a better little guy.  I wonder, if you label them with something, does it makes it seem more realistic or does it make it easier to fight.  In either case, I'm really glad to find out what to expect, what I can look up and read.  I can see it in front of my face.

We will make it though this, with love and cupcakes!  Okay and probably a good amount of juice and coffee. *wink*

Here's some good wiki reads:

With out humor in this, there can be no happy, with out happy, there can be no goal or end.  There may not be an end, but there will always be love and humor.

I enter the world of Smartphones

So here we go, I've "prettied" up my blog a bit, found a cute template and did a bit of a lay out fix. Now, I ramble about things, nobody will ever read, but hey I'm getting out feelings, or something like that.

I have finally entered the rest of the world and have picked up a Blackberry Torch.  I love it!  I have no idea what the other phones are like, but I am in love.

Blackberry Torch
Now, my experience with cell phones is rather limited.  I picked up one in the late 90's and kept up with the current phones for several years.  I moved to a no service area and never got a new one.  So here I am, in 2011 just getting my first real cell phone in almost 10 years.  Let me just say, this thing is like getting a new toy!  All I've had is a crappy trackphone from the dollar store... really? Yeah, really.

The price of these things are insane, compared to my 20 buck a month hardly any minutes trackphone, it's like buying a new car.   We're just another broke family living pay check to pay check, but so far, it's worth the money.  I've been able to walk away from the computer to do some of the daily things I do.  Twitter, Facebook, IM's, I've even got a recipe book!  More money, yes, worth it? Hell yeah!   I can't imagine not having this thing though.  I am proud to say, I grabbed this thing running and kept on going.  It's not hard to use at all, sure I have questions, but that's what the interwebs are for!

I noticed a lot of Applications are made for Iphone or Android or the likes, so that's a bit of a let down.  The apstore is huge though, and a lot of things are listed as coming soon to blackberry or the like.  I'm sure it'll get there.  I'm still after another twitter ap, but for now what I have will do.  Sorry though, no Farmville. *giggle snort*

So, it begins

Well, here I am.  My very first blog post.  I am certain the title of my blog suits me well!  I don't really have a, "plan" really, about what this blog will be about.  I just need somewhere for, well, me!

First things first, this page needs fixing up!

I've just brewed a huge pot of coffee, so hello world, it begins!
